Tv as a technology is neutral. There becomes a problem when we choose to do bad things with the technology. Ed Dames said he remote viewed the beast from revelations and was it was not a person but a technology without a soul. He said the beast was tv. If that is true then the technology is inherently bad. But nothing has inherent qualities (Buddhism). It's bad when we allow bad messages to be perpetrated in our homes. If a person came to our home and said some of the things on tv we would ask them to leave. But with tv we can not talk back. We allow it to stay because it is too hard to find something else on. We don't realize that a repeatedly bad message influences our view of reality.

We need to stand up to the message and say we don't allow evil in our home. We need to choose good and that includes inviting a good message in our home.

One can be judged by the fruits he bears. Similarly we can judge technology in the same way. If the tv does no good for us then the tv is no good. It is almost strange how people accept what is not good for them. They are choosing what s bad and that is a strong indication that our society is sick and weak. We will not grow strong when we choose what is not good.

One of the worst things on tv is the commercials. They need to grab attention so they do something outrageous and wrong. The repetition numbs people to the bad messages. We don't need to buy certain items to be happy.
