See what information last.fm stores. Can I make a MCE plugin for it? Maybe use foldershare to sync files between systems.
I want to sync playlists, mp3s, rating, meta data. Would be nice to make the interface to work with playlists and play music.

X2 features to search for songs.
Dynamic playlists like last 20 played, genre, by meta tag.
Create your genre list. List all songs and drag them to genre to set them to that genre. Check if multi genre is avaliable. If not drop working with that field. Is there an MP3 xml standard to save the files metadata in the ID tags notes filed. The program that manages the data works with the xml. It checks last changed date of the file to see if the file has been udated. The program put each files xml to it's own database. The main thing it stores is genre tags. Tags the songs with last.fm. Try to get it to work with iTunes, Media Player and WinAmp. Create instruction on how to configure those programs to work best with this application. The purpose of the app it to sort my mp3 collection. Tag it, make it searchable, sort into playlists, manage/update playlists, stream songs, collect cover art, display cover art, share collection with friends. Add a karaoke feature to browse songs, queue songs to play, and show song lyrics and skip to song start, restart, go back 10 second.

It would be nice be able to sync the rating between different systems and keep the songs up to date.

A rating change on the media center would be updated on my work computer. The data needs to be stored one the computers it can and streamed everywhere else.

Have a list of all devices. Allow them to sync parts of the library or none at all. The iPod could be audio books only. If possible add a file for the iPod at work and when I get home and sync, my iPod gets the file.

If I'm at a friends house I should be able to call up my collection and play any song or playlist. If I like a song I should be able to rate it and that update will be visible everywhere.

It sould be able to work with a mess of songs. Toss new albums in. They are put in a holding area. When the user takes time to sort the new stuff it is moved around.

Songs that are not played often sink to the bottom and are not played often. If a user skips a song during play that is a hit against it. It the user rates it high, that is a huge boost. Have the option to play the songs at the top easily.

Make a BlackBerry app to view and rate songs. Maybe be able to control the media center with my blackberry.

Tune into what you friends are currently listening to. Browse their collection and play them. Have a friends section in the app.

Make a plugin to list you songs or playlists on facebook. Link to the song and play it with a free service. Also link to a YouTube video.

Build a mock up to exlain the concept. Shop it around and get investors. Mock up the plugins. Maybe make a video of how a user would go to facebook and click a friend and see what they songs shared.

Come up with a list of jobs for the hired programmers. Hire a designer to create a theme and carry it across the different interfaces

Use foldershare method to keep different systems synced or keep a central repository on the internet?

Have a similar interface for videos.

User can create a number of filters to organize their collection. All pics and videos from my camera with a three star or more in the year 2002.

A feature to tag songs you like while browsing and queue them for find/download later.

List all songs on backup device like DVD.

Have a feature to purge old/unwanted material. Make it hard to accedently delete songs. Only change rating, or a move to WillDelete folder.

Have an interface where I can easily store feature ideas and organize them.

Find out what are the most popular music methods and try to integrate with them. Or at least have all their features avaliable

Have the desktop program work in mode to organize data. They have a differnt program to play the organized music and make simple changes.

Get feedback from users and understand what they have and what they are trying to do.

Install the app
Find music, set include folders
Enter or create you internet account.
Select how to sync with other devices in the account.
Set which folders do what
Import data
Load the UI with some default filters.
Keep my own database of songs/genre tags/release year/album art. Have the users add to the DB and keep it up to date. All files and metadata are sent to my DB. The more users that have a piece on info the more that info is at the top. Extra points to the info when someone adds new info.

Have a movers and shakers filter that list what songs people are adding to their collection.
