Hi Mae,
Things are well with me. The biggest recent change is that the girl I was with recently moved to BC. She got a job at a cool resort. Other than that my sister had a baby last week. Here is something you may find interesting; I have been going to Buddhist classes for the past year.
How are things with you? For some reason I though you had a boyfriend but your profile says you are single. How can a pretty girl like you be single?

sucks that your girl moved away - are you going to do long-distance? will you move out there?

Hi Mae, it's nice to hear from you.

I was looking to get out of the relationship with my previous girlfriend for some time. It's a long story but she needed support and I did not feel comfortable abandoning her. She finally got to a place where she could take care of herself. Her moving to BC was a nice way to wrap things up.

A couple years ago I made a decision to focus on the positive. Many sources recommended meditation as something positive. I looked around and found a Buddhist class near me that offered guided meditations. As I continued going to classes it became clear fault could not easily be found in their teachings. I do a meditation every morning on the train ride to work and it has had a subtle but noticeable affect on my perception of things.

How are things with you? I don't think I have talked to you since high school. Did you study to become a doctor? I remember you were near genius. What are you doing these days?

Would you like to get together some time? It would be fun to see your shining eyes and glowing smile again. Maybe we could get dinner or something. I remember once we went to lunch with Rex and Gail at Meadowvale Town Center. It might have been at the Yellow Pumpkin. I was devouring a piece of pie and then I said something like it did not taste very good, and then you started laughing. Good times.

yeah - looking for a convenient out of a relationship is never easy but it seems as though this move to BC came just in time. at least you end up on good terms and can still talk to each other ... how long were you going out with her?

it's good to hear from you too - i"m impressed with your decision to focus on the positive. a lot of people talk the talk but very few walk the walk ... i tried meditation but just keep falling asleep - also a good outcome but i would like to thing of myself as someone who would be able to get in touch with their spiritual side and turn their thoughts inward ... maybe i just need to practice more (difficult b/c i have a short attention span and can be inpatient at times)

do you consider yourself a buddist now? i see from your profile pic that you've adopted their hairstyle at least;) i could see how you would gravitate towards their teachings - you're the strong silent type, put a robe on you and stick you in a tibet protest march

I think we've run into each other once or twice since high school - you were doing this piano teaching thing on cd with dominic ... speaking of old times, remember when we went to that club with him and you and maybe someone else and they played alternative music, or the time on 9th line where we drove by steve and he just crashed his car cuz he was racing - jokes!

well - i did end up finishing med school and am a general surgery resident at u of t ... but i thought i needed another degree so i'm doing a masters in molecular and cellular biology just for fun;)

Dinner sounds wonderful - it might be a bit of a trek for you to come downtown but the selection is much better. How about Sat eve?
